Exceptional course with Philippe Gouttard, Shihan 7th Dan Aïkikaï
Born in 1954, Philippe Gouttard began aikido at the age of 16 at the Portail Rouge Dojo under the guidance of M. Blachon. Mr Pabiou and Mr Cognard also started out in this dojo. It was a time of many experts.
Philippe Gouttard’s first class was given by Me Tamura. He has taken many training courses with Japanese experts (Me Tamura, Me Noro, Me Kobayashi), both in France and abroad. It was during Me Noro’s training courses that he met Me Asaiï, who teaches in Germany. This meeting was to prove decisive for him, as he left to follow his teaching in Germany for 7 years.
In 1978, another encounter set him on the path to his present-day aikido: Christian Tissier came to give a course in Saint-Étienne. Since that day, he has never stopped following him and has constantly progressed through his contact. He also met Me Yamaguchi, whom he met regularly in Japan, where he has been training every year since the early 80s. There, he also took classes with Me Kisshomaru Ueshiba and Me Kisaburo Osawa. Although all three have now sadly passed away, he still enjoys the renewed teaching at Tokyo Aikikai, taking classes with the new Doshu, Seishiro Endo, Yasuno and all the other Aikikai masters.
Technical manager for the Rhône-Alpes region of the F.F.A.A.A. for 15 years, Philippe Gouttard received his sixth dan from the French Federation, as well as his aikikai dan from Endo Shihan.
In 2017, he received the rank of 7th dan and the title of Shihan from Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba,
He regularly gives courses in France and abroad: Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Czech Republic, USA, Holland, and on the French islands of Reunion and Martinique.
He has trained many black belts: Luc Mathevet 6th dan, Cyril Lagrasta 5th dan and many other gradates throughout Europe.
Today, he continues his life as a budoka, and has held a diploma in osteopathy since 2007.
