1980 First steps: student of Japanese senseis
Micheline Tissier began aikido at the age of 15, at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo (Japan). Initially, she practiced mainly with Master Masuda and Master Ichihashi, whom she found more accessible to the beginner that she was. For her first class, her partner and guide was Christian Tissier, then sempai of all foreigners (in Japan, you stay with the same partner for an hour). A little later she took classes with Yamaguchi Seigo Sensei and the Doshu of the time: Ueshiba Kisshomaru.
2007 6th dan awarded
In 2007, Micheline Tissier was awarded the rank of 6th dan Aikikai by Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba. She is the first European to achieve this rank. She is also one of the few women to hold a technical position in an Aikido federation.
2012 Demonstration at the XI FIA Congress
In September 2012, she represented France at the XIth Congress of the International Aikido Federation (Tokyo): she led an international course and gave a demonstration.
2020 Award of 7th dan Aikikai
In 2020, Micheline Tissier was awarded the rank of 7th dan by Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba at the Kagamibiraki 2020.
